Segment 1: Renee and Betsy introduce Brendan Flynn, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Los Angeles Auto Show-50 new cars introduced, focus on electric cars, and increase in sales since October. Some 900,000 people attended the LA Auto Show last week in November, touting new excitement in the industry.
Segment 2: CODA Car company-local Santa Monica company, start-up, Sean Blankenship, SVP of Marketing and Sales for CODA, with car about $32,000, production in summer 2011. Sign-ups on website, and come to Broadway and Lincoln to see the showroom.
Segment 3 & 4: Pedro Pizarro, EVP of Power Operations at Southern California Edison , talks about electricity needed for plug-in vehicles–some homes need to be upgraded to handle certain models-sce.com/pev (plug-in electric vehicle)-whereas Chevy Volt can be plugged into household system; expecting 100,000 EV’s by 2014. Customers should research their costs before buying a vehicle.
