Special thanks to the Los Angeles Business Journal and to Sharareh Drury for the recognition of Renee’s and my efforts to champion small business-owners on radio and online. It’s a deep sense of responsibility and pride that we are able to offer recession-buster hints and cheer-leading for small business during these challenging times. Both Renee and I started our original companies during previous recessions. And we survived. It just takes focused energy, creativity and a special does of necessity to get through. We just returned from the national convention of NAWBO, held in Chicago, where leaders from most of the 80 chapters from every state in the country attended. What a boost of enthusiasm, optimism and upbeat attitude, from hundreds of women business owners, even though most are facing the same tough challenges today. That’s part of the magic of NAWBO–relying on other women business owners for strength, sharing and client referrals. Invigorating. Am ready now to tackle the next six months. By the way, next year’s NAWBO national convention will be in Wash. D.C. for the 35th anniversary of NAWBO. We hope you will all come!
